There’s something about that Disney art style that we all know and love. The style had remained fairly consistent since the creation of Oswald the Lucky Rabbit back in 1927. Human characters in Disney tend to have slim necks and large eyes. Female characters have bigger eyes and more exaggerated eyelashes. Animals are where the Disney style stands out, though. Disney has a way of creating animals that are true to nature while still having some anthropomorphic qualities to make them seem more human. These have mouths that allow them to talk, and their ears tend to be seated further back on their heads.
The idea of transforming regular humans and animals into Disney characters is a process known as “Disneyfication”. Dutch illustrator Isa Bredt was interested in learning more about pet Disneyfication and how to do it, so she asked for people to submit pictures of their pets in order to recreate them. She quickly got so good at pet Disneyfication that she was able to take donations and requests through Patreon, where people can support her and her stunning art. Bredt says that most of her inspiration comes from the classics, like Lady and the Tramp and 101 Dalmations, but her overall favorite Disney movie is The Lion King.
